Preparing for Your Visit

How do I submit my lab results and medical records?

Upload PDF copies of your lab results, medical history, and medical charts using the intake link sent to your email.

Do not email your records to our office. Records sent by email will not be processed.

How do I prepare for my first consultation?

Upload only information relevant to the reason you are seeing Dr. Groysman. Please do not upload hundreds of pages of records; that volume cannot be meaningfully reviewed before a visit.

Please prepare:

  • A two-page summary of your relevant medical history that you write yourself.
  • Your current medication list.
  • A list of your current supplements.
  • Important test results or records directly related to the problem you want addressed.

All documents must be PDFs. Complete your intake and upload your information more than 24 hours before your consultation using the intake link sent to your email. Emailed records will not be processed.

Write down your questions ahead of time. We understand that brain fog can make it difficult to remember your questions. Try to write them down before your consultation, with the most important questions first. Dr. Groysman usually prefers to begin by answering your questions before asking his own.

Decide what you want to accomplish. At the start of your visit, Dr. Groysman will ask, “What can I do for you today?” Tell him whether you want an evaluation and treatment plan or help with a specific concern, such as POTS, dysautonomia, MCAS, hormone imbalance, endothelial dysfunction, or mitochondrial dysfunction.

The questions he asks depend on the concern you want addressed. Keep the goal reasonably focused, and allow him time to ask questions and gather the information needed for your evaluation.

Make the most of your appointment time. We offer 20-minute and 40-minute consultations. You decide how to use your time, but spending most of it telling your story may leave less time for evaluation and treatment planning. The visit works best as a conversation: explain what you need help with, then give Dr. Groysman the opportunity to gather the details he needs.

When will I get my virtual consult link?

We send the virtual consult link email the day before your appointment. Use this link to enter the waiting room about 15 minutes before your scheduled time. Please check your microphone and speakers using the self-test provided in the link. If you cannot get either or both to work, please use another device. Our system is compatible with newer smartphones, tablets, and PCs. If you are experiencing any technical difficulties, contact our office right away.

What should I check before my appointment?

Review your appointment confirmation and any instructions provided by our office. Confirm the appointment time and whether your visit is in person or virtual. If you are unsure which forms or records are needed, please contact our office before your appointment. Payment is due in full at the time of scheduling.

Procedures

Before your procedure: What if I need an oral sedative?

If you need an oral sedative, please contact our office at least 72 hours (Monday–Thursday) prior to your scheduled procedure.  Monday sedation requests should be processed before 3pm CST on Thursdays.  Oral sedative will be sent to a local pharmacy for you to pick up.

What should I expect during treatment?

Your procedure appointment is for the scheduled procedure and does not include a consultation. If you need an evaluation, a treatment plan, or a discussion of new concerns, please schedule a separate consultation.

During your procedure. What to expect depends on the procedure you are having, such as stellate ganglion block (SGB) or epipharyngeal abrasive therapy (EAT). Review the patient handout for your procedure above, and contact our office for preparation instructions specific to your appointment.

Comfort and recovery. Discomfort, temporary effects, recovery time, and the timing of any improvement vary by procedure and patient. The SGB and EAT handouts explain what to expect during and after treatment, potential risks, and when to seek medical attention. Please ask any questions about your procedure before treatment.

Follow-up consultations are separate appointments. These visits allow Dr. Groysman to review your progress and adjust your treatment plan. We typically recommend scheduling follow-up consultations no more than three months apart.

Am I a good candidate for treatment?

A consultation can help determine whether our approach fits your symptoms, medical history, and goals. Consider scheduling if persistent symptoms affect your daily activities or quality of life, or if previous treatments have provided limited benefit.

Common symptoms we evaluate include:

  • Persistent fatigue or low energy.
  • Headaches, head or facial pressure, ear fullness, and tinnitus.
  • Brain fog or difficulty concentrating.
  • Anxiety, mood changes, and emotional instability.
  • Digestive problems, including bloating and irregularity.
  • Chest discomfort, shortness of breath, or palpitations.
  • Joint pain and muscle weakness.

Conditions we address include:

  • Dysautonomia, including postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
  • Immune system overactivation, including mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS).
  • Gut dysbiosis.
  • Mitochondrial dysfunction and related cellular energy deficits.
  • Chronic inflammation.

Our approach combines evaluation, diagnostic testing when appropriate, and individualized treatment planning. Your consultation is the opportunity to discuss which options may be appropriate for you.

How many EAT procedures are typically needed?

Typically, at least four EAT procedures are needed, scheduled one week apart. Some patients will need additional treatments.

How long should I plan to stay near the office for procedures?

We recommend spending two days near our office for procedures. Confirm your procedure schedule and recommended length of stay with our office before booking travel.
